Benjamin Bartu

even those in the shade sought the sun

on the drive to turn in my disability forms to the state,

out the window,

it wasn’t them. only a field,

only pink flowers whose name i didn’t know.

permission

i look for you everywhere.
i want to be able
to just refuse what i know

isn’t right for me. and don’t
you dare ever die.
that’s all. that’d be just fine.
